About Eddie
I’ve spent 25 years in asset management, working across global equity investing and portfolio management. I hold the CFA designation and earned my MBA from Columbia Business School and my BA in Economics from UC Santa Barbara.
Today I serve as an Independent Director on the Invesco mutual fund board and as Executive-in-Residence at Babson College, where I mentor the next generation of investors through the Babson College Fund. I selectively work with investment teams, boards, and corporate groups, leading discussions on decision-making, behavioral bias, and improving judgment under uncertainty.
I've lived on three continents and visited 52 countries, which has taught me that conventional wisdom is mostly neither. Outside of markets, I'm a dad of three, a student of the golf swing, an amateur pitmaster, and a believer that prediction markets know more than pundits.
My Story
Why do smart, capable people keep making the same mistakes?
As a Chief Investment Officer — first at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, then at Eaton Vance — managing global investment teams and making hundred-million-dollar decisions, I had access to brilliant analysts, sophisticated models, and mountains of data. And yet, I watched smart people — myself included — fall into the same traps.
Overconfidence. Short-termism. Groupthink. The tendency to follow the herd precisely when independent thinking matters most.
A quarter century in asset management has taught me something that no finance textbook fully captures: Edge isn’t information. It’s decision quality under pressure.
That idea sits at the heart of my book.

RUNNING AGAINST THE HERD: Battling Biases to Make Better Investment Decisions publishes August 11, 2026, from Columbia Business School Publishing.
It’s the book I wish I’d had at the start of my career. Written for professional investors, allocators, and decision-makers operating under uncertainty, it translates behavioral finance from theory into decisions made with real capital at risk, under real pressure, and with real consequences.
